With a series of high-profile concerts like Drake, Beyonce, Lionel Richie and Madonna all coming to Dallas over the next few months, Dallas has no shortage of concerts that will go down in the history books this year.
One more concert has now been added to the ever-extending array of upcoming concerts though this might just become the most anticipated for many.
None other than rock legends, Aerosmith, often hyped as America’s greatest rock and roll band, have this week announced that they will be coming to the American Airlines Center in November as part of their 2023 ‘Peace Out’ farewell tour.
The legendary rock group dropped the news this week with a “Breaking News” video parody and posts on their social media channels.
According to the announcements, the 20-city tour across North America will celebrate 5 decades of groundbreaking hits “calibrating each arena with leading-edge technology so fans don’t miss a beat of Aerosmith’s classic rock tunes in quality audio.”
News of the farewell tour briefly crashed the Aerosmith site with fans flocking to Twitter for more information.
The United Center was also in on the farewell tour news ahead of time, posting a sneaky video a few days before the official announcement.
Lead singer Steven Tyler said to The Associated Press, “We’re opening up Pandora’s Box one last time to present our fans with the Peace Out tour.”
“After 50 years, 10 world tours, and playing for over 100 million fans…It’s time for one last go!”
This “Pandora’s Box” likely refers to the band’s 1991 3-disc compilation album covering music from the 1970s to the 1980s.
Aerosmith have accrued countless accolades, awards, and more, including Disney’s Rock n Roller Coaster in Florida and Paris.
The Grammy-winning band is set to perform in Dallas at the American Airlines Center on November 5 with special guests The Black Crowes.
Tickets are expected to go on sale via Ticketmaster starting this Friday at 10 am.
